Central Staff Notes - January 20th

Just a few reminders from the last Central Staff Meeting:

New Background Check Procedure -
There is a new letter and form to be completed by each applicant at all interviews. The forms are numbered so will be kept by Terri and handed out on an as needed basis. They are also currently in short supply so be sure to give Terri advance notice before you require them.
  • Review letter w/all candidates at end of interview.
  • Stress that along with references we must now verify employment with prior employer.
  • Have them complete the background check paperwork and sign the letter.
  • Inform applicant that this is a new process, so we are not sure of the turn around date.
  • We will let them know results as soon as we can.

Conversion and Community Engagement - Come to our next Central Staff Meeting on February 4th prepared to discuss a plan for gathering data for Conversion.

This data might include:

  • Classes to be considered for conversion
  • Who we would want to consider involving (community / parents)
  • What other options or alternatives are out there for children who might have attended a classroom that is targeted for conversion.
  • All considerations of a targeted area (needs of the targeted area's population)
  • Costs considerations and facility renovations that need to be considered
  • Types of technical assistance we might need to access.
  • Think about a resonable time table.
  • Any other considerations that would enable us to provide continuity of care.

Updates/Reminders

Since it's turned into such a crazy week, I thought I'd post some updates and reminders for everyone to take into consideration.

Vacation - Most of us have some vacation days planned over the next few weeks, so here is a run down of who is here or not here and when,

  • Linda - December 23rd, 26th, 30th and 31st
  • Sharon - December 29th, 30th and 31st and January 2nd
  • Carol - December 26th, 29th, and January 2nd
  • Anna - December 1/2 day -23rd, 26th, and 31st (not working Fridays)
  • Jenine - December 26th and January 2nd

Board Report - Because so many of us have vacation time planned this month and the holidays are in there too, the board report is going to really be a bit different this time. With class not running from now until January, there shouldn't be too much activity in Child Plus. You can go ahead and work on this any time now. Just be sure to get it to me by the 31st.
